The Hidden Value In Volunteering
(aka. the law of helping = happiness)

When you volunteer you get more than you give.

You give your time and energy to a cause you care about, and in return you have the opportunity to:

– actually improve someone, or something, else’s situation.
          And that feels pretty awesome!

– make new acquaintances and these new acquaintances may turn into solid contacts, good friends, or even life long allies.
         You never know!

– earn respect in your community.
         Always a good thing!

– earn the most important respect—self-respect.
          I highly recommend it!

Below are a few great sites where you can volunteer to help animals, the environment, the community, and yourself.

Purposeful & Productive Donating
(aka. Professor Pourquoi’s Vetting Process)

I believe it is important to donate to causes that you believe in.

I care about lots of things, but Vikki the Vet is particularly concerned about the welfare of animals and their habitats.

I also believe donating is serious business. (You want to know that you are doing as much good as you can do when you donate.)

There are a lot of great charities out there that do excellent work; there are also more than a few charities out there that could do better.

It’s about knowing what you want to achieve with your donation and then being confident that your donation will be used well.

As with everything in life, in order to get the most bang for your buck you need to do your homework.

Below are a few of the best sites I have found for learning about what different charities do and for evaluating how well those charities use their donations.

Best Regards,
Professor Pourquoi
